2023

In New York City, few are unfamiliar with the iconic ABC Carpet & Home flagship. Known for its bohemian spirit, layered textures, and fearless use of color. The brand approached us to reimagine how its rug collection could be experienced beyond the store.

The project centered on a campaign concept titled Where Magic Comes Home. I helped created the campaign storyboard, imagining rugs taking flight across a surreal New York skyline.

I also developed ideas to extend the concept into public-space activations. Designed to bring the brand’s magic into everyday urban life and create a closer, more playful connection between ABC Carpet & Home and the public.

concept 1

Literally…

Flying Carpet

Stuntman jumps off the Flatiron building/ top of Washington Square Park arch with a paraglider made out of the carpets, and then leave the carpet there for people to admire while they walk off.

concept 2

Soft City

Selected rugs featuring embroidered messages were placed throughout the city to invite New Yorkers to slow down and reconnect with small moments of ease. Others were laid out as shared surfaces for rest and picnics, allowing people to pause, gather, and physically experience the comfort abc carpet & home brings into everyday life.

concept 3

Sky Gallery

ABC Carpet & Home hangs its most iconic rugs within a public space in a matter that makes them appear as if they were mid flight above the public's head. Alternatively a number of rugs can be hung vertically to create a colorful mosaic overhead. This would create an opportunity for photoshoots and social posting.

concept 4

Magical Mapping

A sculptural carpet frozen mid-flight is placed in an iconic location near the ABC flagship store. During the day, the carpets create the perfect instagrammable moment. At night, ABC’s eclectic rug patterns come to life as they are projected onto the sculpture’s surface.
